Overall, I had a good experience with this apartment. The Good: 1. The landlord is great. I wasn’t always the perfect tenant and even missed a few payments, but he was always calm and respectful. 2. The apartment itself is well worth the price. 3. The neighborhood is wonderful. I still believe Belgisch Park is the best area to live in The Hague. The vibe is friendly and relaxed. True Scheveningen atmosphere. 4. The neighbors were awesome — had great relationships with them. 5. Community. People in the area know each other, are supportive, and organize events for kids. It’s a very connected community. The Bad and the Ugly: I didn’t have many issues, but a few stand out: 1. Once, the window in my bedroom was blown away by the wind. The property managers (PR Housing) were slow to address it, and I lived for nearly two months without a window. I had to push the landlord to get the property managers moving. Eventually, it was fixed, and I received €1250 off my rent (fair enough), but it wasn’t an ideal experience. 2. Another time, I started my dishwasher and went for an evening walk on the beach. When I returned, the fire brigade was at my place. The dishwasher had leaked and caused water damage to the downstairs neighbor’s pipes. Thankfully, I got a new dishwasher quickly, and the landlord handled the repairs with the neighbor. 3. Although I had wonderful neighbors overall, there was one elderly neighbor who frequently complained about noise, even though I didn’t host parties or play loud music. Eventually, she stopped talking to me and would sometimes mutter rude comments, but it was harmless and didn’t disrupt my daily life. 4. Only €400 from my €1350 were returned. Overall, I can recommend this apartment.
