Plaza Resident Services is a housing platform in the Netherlands that offers affordable rental homes in community buildings. Plaza is part of Mosaic World — a group of organizations involved in the housing market. Plaza invests in, builds, and manages properties across multiple cities in the Netherlands — surprisingly, in regions that are far apart within the country.
“Plaza” is a new name. Not long ago, Plaza Resident Services was known as Camelot Europe, which was involved in many scandals with tenants.
The name “Plaza” comes from the Spanish word for “place,” traditionally referring to a communal space where residents could meet and trade. Reflecting this concept, Plaza Resident Services focuses on creating community-oriented living spaces.
They list their available homes on the NewNewNew platform, where you can find furnished accommodations suitable for both short-term and long-term rentals. Plaza is not as popular as Pararius or Funda, which means the competition for homes on Plaza Resident Services is significantly lower.
In some cases, it is even possible to rent a parking, storage or workspace from Plaza Resident Services.
The concept of the NewNewNew platform is quite straightforward.
To begin your search, create an account on the NewNewNew platform. There is a €25 registration fee, which is refundable if you end up renting a home from Plaza Resident Services. The registration fee will allow you access the NewNewNew platform for 12 months.
Once registered, you can browse accommodation options and apply for as many properties as you like—there’s no limit on the number of applications.
After applying for the properties you’re interested in, you’ll need to upload the necessary documents for yourself or your sponsor. Required documents typically include proof of income and identification. Plaza Resident Services operates on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning the first applicant whose documents meet the approval criteria is likely to secure the property.
If your application is approved, you’ll receive an offer and have 24 hours to accept the accommodation. Upon acceptance, you’ll proceed to handle the necessary payments as outlined in your rental agreement.
After moving in, you gain access to a self-service portal where you can find all relevant information about your accommodation. This includes your contract, the ability to submit maintenance requests, and access to invoices.
Plaza Resident Services has specific criteria for allocating properties:
There’s also a great video recorded by Plaza that clearly demonstrates how the platform works:

Apart from the registration fee, you also have to pay your rent, of course. The rental price is structured as follows:
For a rental agency in the current market, we'd say that Plaza has many positive reviews. Some tenants on Google Reviews complain about elevators not working, high cleaning costs, but on the same time there are many very positive ones. There are also Reddit threads like this and this with tenants sharing their experiences with Plaza Resident Services. TrustPilot reviews, however, aren't that positive.
The issue with Plaza is that they recently rebranded from Camelot Europe, whose reviews were... Well, they were very bad. They were involved in multiple scandals, court cases about overcharging tenants, bad management, and even death of a tenant. This YouTube episode of the BOOS program about Camelot Europe went viral:
To their credit, many of the post-rebranding reviews are positive. But it is not clear whether these reviews are genuine. For example, in 2023 Plaza had no warm water in their Delft building for over 7 months.
Plaza Resident Services has buildings in many cities across the Netherlands, like Amsterdam, The Hague, Maastricht, Eindhoven, Arnhem, Deventer and Enschede.
Only Plaza can add listings to the NewNewNew platform. They acquire homes either by renovating them themselves or by managing properties on behalf of others.
Hard to explain... Just check it out below:
In the past, many people used Google Sheets or Notion databases to track their rental applications — or didn’t track them at all — leading to missed opportunities and forgotten applications. With Uprent, every application is automatically saved to your dashboard. This allows you to easily manage and monitor all your applications in one place. Uprent also sends reminders for important follow-ups and automates tasks like creating Google Calendar events for viewings. You can even share your dashboard with your flatmate, allowing you to collaborate on the rental search.
